Editor's Review There are so many new ways to learn and play with Ms. Rachel. Developed by Ms. Rachel in collaboration with Spin Master, these three new toys incorporate favorite songs and phrases from the Ms. Rachel YouTube channel. The Spin Along Learning Wheel helps children ages 1 and up practice animal sounds, colors, and more. When kids spin the wheel, they’ll land on pictures in one of three play modes. The wheel clicks as it spins, and then kids might hear Ms. Rachel ask about their favorite song, color, or animal. Pressing one of the shown images will play music, sounds, and other phrases. And kids can press the center button for even more Ms. Rachel prompts and phrases. A Learning Card is also included with more play ideas to help inspire parent-child interaction. Two AAA batteries are included. There are two levels of volume. The First Words Talking Flash Cards set is a talking flash card holder with enough double-sided cards to introduce 100 first words. Each card has a word and a picture of that word. Press the left yellow button to hear Ms. Rachel prompt kids to put in a card. Once the card is inserted, Ms. Rachel will say the word on that card and continue to say the word each time the yellow button is pressed with the card still inserted. A Learning Card explains to parents the educational learning behind the toy, as well as offers additional play ideas. This includes two AAA batteries, and it also has two levels of volume. The My First Learning Bus is a school bus toy with figures of Ms. Rachel and Herbie. Kids can turn the bus’s windshield wiper, fold in or out the stop sign, and open or close the school bus door. Each bus wheel has a different shape and color on it. When you place a figure in the driver’s seat and press down, you’ll hear songs and Ms. Rachel phrases. Ms. Rachel or Herbie can drive the bus! You can also press the steering wheel for honking sounds. Whoever rides in the back seat will go up and down as the bus rolls along. The parent Learning Card explains the skills little ones are building through play, as well as offers more play ideas. The toy comes with two AAA batteries and has two volume levels. There’s motor skill development in spinning the wheel, pressing the card holder’s button, and pushing the school bus. Each toy also helps kids learn through listening, which builds their communication skills. And kids are working their cognitive development through each toy’s different features. These will be appealing to fans of Ms. Rachel, but you don’t have to watch Ms. Rachel’s YouTube channel in order for your child to benefit from the early learning skills in these toys.
